Description
This immaculate 2019 White Falcon 1oz gold coin is the tenth in the prestigious “Queen’s Beasts” series.
The White Falcon is depicted in a powerful pose, clutching a shield that features the emblem of the House of Plantagenet. This emblem, a falcon within an open fetterlock, symbolizes the heritage and legacy of the Plantagenets, one of the most influential royal houses in British history.
The Queen’s Beasts are ten statues that stood guard at the Queen’s Coronation, sculpted by James Woodford RA in 1953. They are currently housed at the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec, Canada, with stone replicas residing at Kew Gardens, London.
This coin is 24-carat (999.9 purity) and contains one ounce of gold. As with other British currency, this coin is exempt from Capital Gains Tax. Both the obverse and reverse are masterfully designed by the Royal Mint’s Jody Clark.
Additionally, the “First Strike” designation signifies that this coin was among the first struck using new dies, adding an extra layer of prestige to this already exceptional piece.
