Curator’s Note:
This painting is not just a rare piece of Nick Fraser’s incredible body of work; it represents a fragment of a journey spanning decades. For over 30 years, my father, Mark O’Shaughnessy, shared an extraordinary friendship with Nick, acting as his confidant, supporter, and muse. Their bond was built on mutual admiration, creativity, and an unwavering belief in the power of artistic expression.
As Nick’s art unfolded, so too did their shared vision—to one day share this extraordinary work with the world. Following my father’s lead, I, as his son, have taken on the honor and responsibility of continuing Nick’s legacy. Curating his first public exhibition was a deeply emotional and transformative experience for me, as I saw not just an artist’s work but a lifetime of stories, love, and collaboration come to life.
Now, with this piece and others, I aim to continue honouring Nick’s artistic genius and the beautiful connection he shared with my father.
Each painting is a testament to a life lived creatively and authentically, and it’s my privilege to ensure Nick’s legacy reaches the hearts of those who truly value the unique and the profound.
