Note: HM King Charles III (formerly known as His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales) has painted many watercolours of his favourite views around Balmoral. In this image, the dark forms of the trees in the foreground are contrasted with the lightly painted mountain rising in the distance. Sunlight breaks through the wintry snow-laden sky to create an ever-changing display of colours over the landscape. HM King Charles III painted the watercolour. This print was created when he was HRH The Prince of Wales.
Ben Avon (1,171m – 3,842ft), named in Scottish Gaelic – Beinn Athfhinn – which means Hill of the bright one is a mountain in the Cairngorm mountains range of Scotland Eastern Highlands. The highest point of the massif, known as Leabaidh an Dаimh Bhuidhe (bed of the yellow stag) is classified as both a Munro and a Marilyn. Ben Avon is a very large and complex mountain sprawling over more than 30 km2. The summit plateau is dominated by granite tors, one of which forms the summit.
